Gallery Rifle and Pistol Monthly report 30th August 2020
The sun came out to greet the eleven ECSC members who turned up for our second gallery rifle and pistol competition since the lockdown. The morning’s competition was a complete change and break away from the usual formats with the emphases on marksmanship. Our first target was the pistol T&P1 target 25mts, twelve shots in two minutes. Next up was the MT target at 20mts, six appearances each of two seconds with five second intervals between shots followed by the smallbore T&P1 rifle target at 15mts, again six appearances each of two seconds with five second intervals between shots. The last target at the 10mts line was the 25mt precision rifle target with three appearances each of three seconds with intervals of five seconds. The HPS being 300.030. We had nineteen entries across six disciplines. My thanks to Paul F and Hugh D for taking over as Ro’s allowing me to shoot.
Honours went to Brónagh M in the small-bore pistol open sighs (SBP) with Anthony F taking first place in the OSBP event and Paul F winning the gallery rifle event. Results below.
Our next monthly competition shoot will be on the 27th September. I have received some very positive feedback from many competitors who took part in last Sunday’s shoot that it has been suggested I run the same format for next month’s shoot and so I shall, with first shots off at 10:30.
