Rifle Competition Results Sunday 1st May 2022

The first day of May and also the first Sunday of the month and that can only mean one thing – the monthly rifle competition.  Ten competitors slugged it out over the three disciplines that were shot, FSPR  (shot from prone, rifle supported front and rear), SPR (shot prone, rifle supported on elbows with sling and shooting jacket) and possibly the trickiest of the lot, Gallery Rifle 50m Precision (shot standing).

The weather was damp but the rain mostly held off for the duration of the shooting, wind was moderate but consistent.  The rifles shot ranged from manufacturers Anschutz, Marlin, CZ and Ruger, bolt action and semi-auto, aluminium “chassis” to full wooden stock from tip to toe. Examples shown in the photos below.

Scores were close and competition stiff but enjoyed by all and spirits were high with the knowledge of a bank holiday Monday to follow.  Well done to all.
