Annual inter-club shoot between Derrybawn RPC, East Cost Shooting Club & Roundwood RPC.

The second leg  of the  the annual inter-club shoot between Derrybawn RPC, East Cost Shooting Club & Roundwood RPC took place yesterday,  on 24th May at the Derrybawn Club in Laragh

The first leg, which took place on the 18th May at the ECSC Range, consisted of the following disciplines:

.22 LR (10am start) – unlimited sighters & 20 scoring shots. Prone position, front & rear rests permitted. Maximum Score 200.

Shotgun (approx 12pm) – 25 clays. Maximum Score 100. Fibre Wad cartridges only.

30  competitors across all three clubs took part in the .22LR prone and Shotgun stages.

30 also took part in the second stage at Derrybawn.

 

The second leg was as follows:

Sunday 24th May.
Venue: Derrybawn RPC, Laragh.

Centrefire (11am start) – 10 shots (5 rested from the seated position & 5 shots off the elbows from the seated position). Max score 100.

Pistol (approx 1pm) – distance 20 meters. 20 shots (rimfire or centrefire, iron sight or red dot). Maximum score 200.

 

The top 5 scores for each club in each discipline were aggregated to establish the highest score. You can see the overall results in the following table. Last year there were only 5 points between the top two clubs. It was very close this year with only 21 points between the top 2 clubs.

Such a mixed discipline competition enables experienced shooters to excel at what they do best whilst enabling less experienced shooters to try out other disciplines.
