East Coast Open Sat 25 May 2024

The East Coast Open Target Rifle Shoot was in a Previous incarnation the Fassaroe Rifle and Pistol Club perpetual trophy Shoot and was first competed for in 1976. It has been held each year since, with the exception of 2003 to 2009, when we were homeless and 20 /21 due to covid.

There are many illustrious names on the trophy with quite a few NI shooters over the years. There are quite a few East coast /Fassaroe names on the trophy as well. The most prolific name on the trophy is our own Sandy W.

While this years competition was not over subscribed, we had a very enjoyable shoot,  which saw Terry W of the Defense Forces Target shooting Club the eventual winner with a score of 583. There was a tie for second place between Sandy W and Asa R  with a score of equal 573 on countback. Asa  took the Silver medal with Sandy taking bronze .

The competition saw the debut of the newest target shooter, Oscar T, who shot well in his opening shoot.

A Good day was had by all and the pastries very quickly dissapeared, especially the apple lattice.

The next shoot on the calendar is the cross over shoot scheduled for sat 22 june .
