East Coast Shooting Club, Roundwood, 11th March 2018.
Storm Emma and The Beast from the East relented finally and left our shores allowing our opposition from Wexford to make the journey safely across the border to County Wicklow, albeit with some minor diversions caused by road works along their way! There were still snow drifts but they were at the edges of the road and the range itself was mostly clear of the stuff.
This challenge shoot used the NASRPC Multi-Target format, slightly modified, and provided much entertainment and challenge for all. CIPC had never used this format before yet managed to record excellent scores, better in fact than those of East Coast who use it several times during their monthly shoots during the year! Both clubs fielded six competitors and the competition involved two categories, iron and red dot sights. The scores are tabulated below showing very good marksmanship. It was necessary to separate scores using ‘X’ countback, and in one case ‘5’ countback. So well done CIPC on the win and clean sweep of the prizes, which were arranged by your own Nick G. who also transported them to the shoot. The Inter Club Trophy was also won by CIPC, warm congratulations and East Coast looks forward to challenging you strongly for it later in the year. Thanks also to Anthony F. and Sean Mc who stepped in to perform CRO and Stats duties thus helping move things along towards a timely conclusion. Also Rich G. asked that the warm and friendly welcome and hospitality extended to their members by all East Coast members that they met was deeply appreciated and made them feel really welcome. The victorious CIPC team are pictured below. We wanted a picture of the vanquished ECSC team but it seems to have vanished from the camera. We suspect finger trouble from the member of the CIPC team who “took” the picture. It is a pity that the same finger trouble did not afflict him when he was shooting! Well done lads!
