The Sunday Blog 20th March 2016.—Remember Range Closed Next Sunday 27th March!!!

A mixed bag of topics for you today after what started out as a cool crisp day turned into a warm afternoon. Our first feature is a study in good shooting position as demonstrated by Sandy, one of or most experienced target rifle shooters with many competition wins to his name including National Championships. Here he is shown shooting an Anschutz “1613”with a fine old Unertl telescopic sight which has external adjustments. You do not see many of these around. The rifle is also shown in close up.

Next up is another unusual Anschutz, currently configured as a Silhouette Rifle. This started life as a “running Boar” rifle, a 1408ED, used in what was once an Olympic Discipline by a member of the UK Olympic shooting team. The same man made the stock when he took up Silhouette shooting.

Ralph, a long standing Silhouette shooter is shown here on the Silhouette range, using his Anshutz 1712 bolt action rifle. Two of our more recent new members., Niamh and MIchael are shown shooting alongside, one with a CZ bolt action and the other with a Ruger 10/22 semi auto.

Our latest structural improvement is shown below, the outdoor lounge and BBQ area. It is shown being tested by the Club Chairman who likes to ensure that everything is up to scratch before being used by the members. The sun did come out just after this photo was taken and the area filled up with members basking in the warmth of the sun and the surrounding friendship of fellow club members!
