Pistol Competition Report Sunday 29th January 2017

This overcast, dull, damp and very cold morning saw an excellent turnout comprising sixteen entries in total to compete in our first monthly pistol shoot of 2017. The wind remained calm which was the only bit of good news!! This mornings’ shoot used the NRA Slow Fire format with 300 as the Highest Possible Score (HPS) and was shot at 15 metres range, single handed.  Following on from last weekend’s Pistol Shooting Coaching session in the club a clear improvement in the scores is perceptible!!

Thanks to all who took the trouble to travel and compete, it got the New Year off to a good start.

Congrats to Maurice on his impressive win in the rimfire category, shooting 271/300HPS, highly commendable and impressive to watch, Frank B. went home the centrefire winner this month shooting a 245/300. Congrats, Frank!! My thanks to Maurice who also helped with compiling the scores and kept the waiting around bit for the shooters to as small a time as possible.

The next competition will be held on Sunday 26th February 2017 at the Club, first shots off at 1030 a.m.

Keep practicing and see you at the next competition!
