Monthly Club Pistol Competition Sunday 27th. August.

PISTOL COMPETITION REPORT

27th August 2017.

Despite it being holiday time and also the last holiday weekend before the schools go back, turnout to-day was very good, one of the highest turnouts ever!! Well done and thank you all for making the range come alive and enjoying yourselves in the process!

For this months’ shoot we used the NASRPC 25 Metre Precision format and targets, shooting double-handed at 25 metres range. This competition is shot over four matches, the first being timed to three minutes but allowing unlimited number of rounds to be fired; the remaining three matches require ten rounds, each match to be shot in three minutes. The shoot requires 30 rounds (plus as many practice rounds as desired) and the HPS is 300.

Well done to Frank B. who won both categories again, shooting 284 points in the rimfire competition– a great score. Second place went to Sean Mac who posted a score of 276. Third place was tied between Paul F and Cathal C. at 268, but as Cathal had more ‘X’ scores he took the honours.

Frank B. aced the centrefire competition with 268 points, ahead of Eddie K’s 256 with the .38Spl and second entry 9mm in third place at 247. A tight enough finish.

The next competition will be held on Sunday 30th September 2017 at the Club, first shots off at 10.30a.m.

Keep practicing and see you all next month at the club!
