Monthly Club Pistol Competition October 29th.

A good turnout to-day well up to scratch with fourteen entries, a good turn out on a bank holiday weekend.

For this months’ shoot we used the NASRPC Timed and Precision #1 format and targets, shooting double-handed at 25, 15 and 10 metres range. This competition is shot over three matches, and requires 30 rounds, the HPS is 300 and it can be used as a gallery rifle format. And so it was today with Anthony F. and myself having an informal competition with our long guns! In future pistol shoots, if the pistol format allows for use of rifles (and some of them so) I will notify this on the website in advance so that members can bring their rifles along and a gallery rifle competition can be conducted using the same targets and course of fire.

So back to to-day and well done to Cathal C. who won the rimfire competition with 286pts – an impressive score. Second place went to Sean Mac. who posted a score of 281 with Frank B. taking third place with 280. Frank B. took the honours in the centrefire competition with 295 with Dave C. challenging with a respectable 279.

The next competition will be held on Sunday 26th November 2017 at the Club, first shots off at 10.30a.m.

Keep practicing and see you on the range at the club!
